The Schneider Ranch offers some
of the best whitetail deer, turkey and feral hog hunting in Central
Texas. The ranch is located in the scenic Texas Hill Country
and is bordered on the South by the San Saba River. This part
of the river has a limestone base and is spring fed.
The ranch is under a Level 3
Wildlife Management Plan with the Texas Parks and Wildlife
Department, and has been under intense management for whitetail deer
for eight years. This has included select harvesting of animals
and year round corn and free choice protein feeding. Also, the
ranch is part of the San Saba Wildlife Management Association, which
includes 25 landowners and 140,000 acres. This has resulted in a tremendous increase in the age, size and quality of the whitetail deer herd. Numerous bucks have been harvested the past four years that grossed between 125-157 B & C points, and several bucks were photographed last year that grossed 150-170 B & C. Some of these bucks are included in the photo gallery, as digital cameras have been strategically placed at each feeder.
We offer rifle or bow hunting
for trophy whitetail deer, management bucks, does, turkeys and feral
hogs. Twelve rifle blinds and six bow blinds have been
strategically placed on the ranch.
This
is a unique hunting opportunity, as the Schneider Ranch has not been
offered for any type of commercial hunting for eleven years.

Hunting 2005

"The
most amazing thing to all of us was the amount of quality deer on
the ranch. We've done several hunts in Texas (mainly South)
and never thought that we would see equivalent deer in Central
Texas. Beyond the size of the deer, the people and hospitality
were above and beyond our
expectations."
David Schofman

2006 Hunts

"We have been to the Schneider Ranch the last two years and have had a great time and lots of success. The hunting was only matched by the accommodations and hospitality of Bill and his staff."
Jerry West
